Illuminate Your Space with the Enchanting Alocasia Polly

Alocasia Polly is a plant that sparks curiosity — with its dramatic dark green leaves, striking white veins, and arrowhead shape, it’s often compared to a tribal face mask or something from a fantasy film. It brings both a mysterious and elegant touch to any indoor space.

While stunning, Alocasia Polly does require specific care to stay healthy:

    • Watering: Avoid overwatering — Alocasia Polly is prone to stem and rhizome rot, especially if the soil stays wet for too long. This is due to its thick, fleshy stems and underground corms (storage organs), which hold moisture. Let the top 2–4 cm of soil dry out between waterings.

    • Humidity: Contrary to popular belief, this plant prefers moderate humidity. Very high humidity (above 80%) can encourage fungal or bacterial issues, especially if there is poor air circulation. A range of 50–60% humidity is ideal for most homes.

    • Light: It thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, while too little light will slow growth and cause the plant to become leggy.

    • Dormancy: Alocasia Polly may go dormant in colder months — don’t panic if it drops its leaves in winter. Simply reduce watering and wait for new growth in spring.
